Rivers

Recently I have been walking along a canal in the centre of Brittany where the waters flow gently in a mystical motion that is so very hypnotic.

I am reminded of my childhood, walking with my grandfather along a canal in Ireland, watching the leaves reflected in the darkness of the depths, an occasional kingfisher darting along the banks.

It's a subject that I am drawn to, the water reflecting the seasons, the light shimmering, and this painting is one of the results!
